Troubleshooting Credit Report Re-Issue: “Permission Denied” Error
If you see a Permission Denied error while running or re-issuing a credit report, here are a few steps to try.
⚠️ Note: This is a vague error message. These tips may not always resolve the issue. Since the error is returned by your credit vendor, we recommend contacting them directly for further assistance.
1. Check the Request Type
-
If you are re-issuing a soft pull, be sure to select Re-issue “Existing SoftCheck Report” from the Request Type drop-down.
-
Choosing the wrong request type can trigger the Permission Denied error.

2. Check the User Credentials Type
-
Confirm you’re using the correct User Credentials Type when running or re-issuing a report.
-
Options include Company Credentials or My Credentials, depending on your setup

3. Check Who Pulled the Original Report
Are you the Loan Officer who originally pulled the credit report?
-
If Yes > Verify your credentials under Profile > Edit Profile > Actions tab. If they are correct but the error persists, reach out to your credit vendor.
-
If No > only the Loan Officer who originally pulled the report can re-issue it. If re-issuing needs to be done by another user, the Impersonation feature can be enabled.

Tip: Because this error originates from the credit vendor, our system can only display the returned message — the vendor will have the most direct insight into why access was denied.
