How to Generate the HMDA Report using SphereLOS

Learn how to easily generate and export the HMDA report in SphereLOS with step-by-step instructions, key fields to check, and tips to ensure accuracy.

  1. Log in to SphereLOS and click Report in the top navigation bar.

  2. Search for HMDA using the search bar, then click the Eye icon to open the report.

    If the HMDA report isn’t showing, please contact your system administrator for access.

  3. Enter your Date Period manually or select one of the Predefined Ranges.

  4. Choose the correct Federal Agency from the dropdown list.

  5. Select a State from the dropdown (or leave it blank to include all states).

  6. Use the Pipeline Status filter to choose Active, Archived, or leave it blank to see all.

  7. Click Search to view the results.

  8. To export the report, open the “Add to Export Queue” dropdown: Choose either Plain Text (LAR) or Excel format.

  9. After adding the report, click Export Queue.

  10. Wait for the status to change from Pending to Download.

  11. Click Download to save the file.

Quick tip: The contact shown on the report is pulled from your Company Settings. To check or update it, navigate to Settings, select Manage Company, click Departments, and look for the QC Department.

  1. HMDA Tools

Excluding Loans from HMDA

  • For non-delegated correspondent loans:
     Go to Loan > Additional > General Tracking > NDC and toggle it on.

  • For all other exclusions:
     Go to Loan > Additional > HMDA > Exclude from HMDA Report and toggle it on

Accurate HMDA reports depend on entering correct and timely information in the system. This includes ensuring the Loan Application and Disclosure are completed properly, along with updating key fields in the Overview-Critical Dates and Loan Additional-HMDA sections.

Critical Dates

Go to Overview > Critical Dates and make sure the following fields are accurate:

  • Application Taken Date

  • Closed Date

  • Funded Date

  • Withdrawal

  • Incomplete

  • Denied

  • Not Accepted

  • Rescinded

HMDA Section

Navigate to Loan Additional > HMDA and confirm the following:

  • Action Type

  • Action Date

  • If the loan is part of a preapproval program, select the correct Preapproval Type

Reminder

Always consult with your internal compliance team for guidance. 

New Feature: Exporting to Excel

As of June 15, 2025, the HMDA report can now be exported in Excel format

 Click Add to Export Queue, then choose Excel from the dropdown menu.
