How to Set the VA Funding Fee (Exempt or Enter Amount)

This guide explains how to enter a VA Funding Fee or mark the Funding Fee as exempt in SphereLOS. Steps are provided for both the Sidebar (2025) and Sidebar (2023) layouts.

Sidebar (2025) Page Layout

  1. Open the loan file and go to Loan and Property.
  2. Double-click any field under Loan Information to open Edit Mode.
  3. In Funding Fee Exempt:
    • Select Yes if the fee is exempt. 
    • Select No and enter the Funding Fee % if it’s not exempt — the system will automatically calculate the dollar amount.

     4. Click Save when finished.

Sidebar (2023) Page Layout

  1. Open the loan file and go to Overview > Terms and Mortgage.
  2. Click the Edit Pencil or double-click any field to open the Edit Mode.
  3. In the Funding Fee field:
    • Enter 0 if the Funding Fee is exempt.
    • Enter the Funding Fee % if it’s not exempt — the system will calculate the amount.

     4. Click Save when finished.

💡 Tip: To change the loan file page layout, go to your Profile in the top right corner and click Edit Profile. Under Page Layout, click the Version dropdown and select the version you prefer to use.

💡 Tip: If you prefer to always start in edit mode, go to your Profile in the top right corner → click Edit Profile. Under Page Layout, click the Mode dropdown and select Edit. Don’t worry — you’ll always have the option to Save your updates or simply Restore the original without making changes.
