How to Create Custom Fields in SphereLOS

A Step-by-Step guide to creating custom fields in SphereLOS

 

Log in to your SphereLOS account with the System Administrator user role.

Step 1: Access Custom Fields

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Search for and click on Custom Fields to open the section.

Step 2: Create a New Custom Field

  1. Click Add New Custom Field.
  2. In the Label Box, enter the name of the custom field (e.g., "EIN" or "Referral Source").
  3. Under Parameter Type, select the appropriate format for data entry:
    • List – Creates a dropdown or selection list with predefined options.
    • Range – Allows users to enter a minimum and maximum value.
    • Table – Provides a structured format for entering multiple values in rows and columns.
    • Value – A single entry field for one specific value.
  4. Click Save to finalize the custom field name and format. This will return you to the General Information settings.

Step 3: Assign Custom Fields to Sections

  1. Click on a Section to choose where the custom field will be placed.
  2. You can make custom fields available across multiple sections if needed.

Step 4: Configure User Role Permissions

  1. Click Permissions to manage user access for viewing and/or editing custom fields.
  2. Toggle permissions on or off for each user role.
  3. Use Check All or Uncheck All to quickly modify multiple permissions.
  4. Click Permission Manage to enable or disable a user's ability to edit the custom field.
  5. To set permissions based on loan status, click the edit pencil.
  • Click Add New Group.
  • Choose Equals or Except.
  • Add the relevant loan status.
  • Click Save to apply the settings.

Click Save to finish setting up the custom field.
